Capofaro was born out of the love that the Tasca d’Almerita family have for wine and sea, a spectacular estate found on the island of Salina, designed for friends, guests and travellers of taste, providing the best in Mediterranean hospitality. Capofaro is the truest expression of Salina, a locanda surrounded by rows of vines reaching the sea, producing Malvasia, the typical wine of the island.

THE ROOMS:

Twenty-seven rooms in total, each unique yet all with their own private terrace with a sea or garden view, surrounded by 4,5 hectares of Malvasia vineyards.  The white strcutures are enhanced by terraces with the typical Aeolian style columns, bright pink bourgainvillea flowers and shady canopies.

LIGHTHOUSE:

With its reassuring presence and charm of its warm glow, this lighthouse has been standing on the promontory of Capofaro since the mid nineteenth century.

MALVASIA:

The noble fruit of the Aeolian Islands. If the grapes are harvested early, the result is a dry wine with good acidity, hints of aromatic herbs and floral notes. When harvested fully ripe and dried for a short time, the grapes yield excellent sweet wines.

THE RESTAURANT:

The restaurant at Capofaro sets you on a path through the heart of Sicilian aromas and taste, balancing tradition and contemporary sensibility. Viticulture is central to the menu, all dishes that embody the sun, sea and volcanic land of Salina can be paired with Tasca’s bottles from their five wine estates.
